§ 12.203. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission; General Provisions.

(a)

General Provisions . General provisions applicable to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission are set forth in subtitle 3, "Boards and Commissions," of this title.

(b)

Purpose . The purpose of the Commission is to encourage and coordinate appropriate ceremonies and activities throughout Howard County honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

(c)

Membership . The Commission shall consist of 17 voting members, and at least one nonvoting student member under the age of 19. The student's term shall be for one year. Commission membership shall broadly reflect the diversity of the residents of Howard County.

(d)

Executive Secretary. The Administrator or the Administrator's designee shall serve as Executive Secretary to the Commission and attend all meetings.

(e)

Meetings . The Commission shall meet at least 11 times per year.
