§ 12.300. Local Children's Board established; staffing; purpose; general provisions.

  • (a)

    Board Established. There is a Howard County Local Children's Board within the Department of Community Resources and Services. In this subtitle, the term "Board" shall mean the Howard County Local Children's Board.

    (b)

    Staffing. Except as provided in section 12.306(a) of this subtitle, the Department of Community Resources and Services shall provide staffing for the Board.

    (c)

    Purpose of the Board. The Board shall approve, oversee, and act as a neutral convener that facilitates interagency collaboration, youth empowerment and community engagement to create and implement a shared vision for children, youth and families in Howard County.

    (d)

    General Provisions. General provisions applicable to the Board are set forth in subtitle 3, "Boards and Commissions," of title 6, "County Executive and the Executive Branch," of the Howard County Code.
