§ 3.227. Remedies.

(a)

The Building Official may institute any action at law or equity, including injunction or mandamus, to enforce the provisions of this subtitle.

(b)

The Building Official may prevent use or occupancy of a structure where there is a violation of this subtitle.

(c)

Alternatively, and in addition to and concurrent with all other remedies, the Building Official may enforce the provisions of this subtitle with civil penalties in accordance with title 24 of the Howard County Code as follows:

(1)

A violation of this subtitle is a Class C offense; and

(2)

A subsequent violation of this subtitle is a Class B offense.

(d)

Each day that a violation continues is a separate offense.
